Genesis 21:1-7, 25 years have passed since God made his promise to Abraham and Sarah to give them a child. Abraham has turned 100 years and Sarah has turned 91 years old. We can just imagine the impossibility of these too having a baby per God’s promises. Sarah has passed the age of child bearing. But the question is, can there be anything too extraordinary to God? We know that God keeps his word and fulfils his promises at the pointed time, God’s sovereignty and faithfulness see no boundary. But through out the life of Abraham we learn some valuable lessons like our disobedience to God brings us sorrows. But can that stop God’s promises from being fulfilled? The answer is no. Why? Because God has the ability to turn calamities into happiness. Sarah waited for so long and she suffered as well the taunts of being barren. But we see God finally fulfilling his promise and Sarah nurses a baby. It does not matter how far or how long, come what may God still fulfills his promises.
